The Foodie Blogroll has grown in the past year to close to 2000 blogs strong! Due to this overwhelming response, over the past few months we have been working to make the Foodie Blogroll more than just a list of blogs. We have listened to your feedback and are building an online community for food bloggers to network and share ideas and encourage each other to continue our passion for food blogging!
The new Foodie Blogroll Widget!
The new Widget comes with a sleek new design, loaded with new features and it makes your blog eligible for the new benefits reserved for the Foodie Blogroll members. If you already had the old Foodie Blogroll Widget on your blog, you may notice that the new widget on your site has a "new look". On some blogs it may look fine, on others it might be look a bit off.
We are asking our member to please replace the old Widget code on their blogs with the new Widget code. This will ensure the Widget will look and fit great on your blog. The new Widget can also be customized to fit better with your blog design!

There is more great news!
Here are all the great new features we implemented:
- The new Foodie Blogroll Widget: The Widget now features the 5 most recent blogs that have been added to The Foodie Blogroll community, as well as 5 random blogs of the day. These two features have been very well received, and have resulted in more readership and hits to the blogs that have been featured. You can now customize the Widget size and color to make it fit better with your blog design. Also the Widget now tracks your stats and makes you eligible for all the benefits of membership.
- Monthly prize Giveaways and Rewards: Prizes and gifts to reward our active members! Follow this link to read more about the Foodie Blogroll Contests and Rewards program. To be eligible you have to display the new Foodie Blogroll Widget on your blog.
- New website features: We have a new dedicated home for The Foodie Blogroll. Blogs can now be browsed by title, date joined and traffic. We will be soon featuring opportunities for bloggers to vote for member blogs. Top ranked and most visited blogs will be automatically featured on the Foodie Blogroll front page. Another great incentive to keep you blogging about food!
- Foodie Blogroll/Leftover Queen Forum: A very active community with over 650 members. A great benefit for joining is a forum for members (and other foodies alike) to hang out, get to know each other and talk about our favorite subject: FOOD! The Forum is currently being held over on the Lefotverqueen.com site.
- The Royal Foodie Joust: We have a monthly contest on the forum which has been described as the "Iron Chef" competition of the Food blogging world. We have prizes for First, Second and Third place, including your own personalized apron for the first place winner.
- Finest Foodie Friday: Every Friday we feature hand picked blogs from the Foodie Blogroll. The blogs are featured on the Foodie Blogroll front page as well as on the The Leftover Queen (a blog with over 900 daily readers, being featured there is a great opportunity to get a stronger readership). You have to be an active member of The Foodie Blogroll in order to be featured. There is also a dedicated thread on the Foodie Blogroll Forum where members can nominate other members for Finest Foodie Friday as well.
- Upcoming new and exciting features: We are working on many new features to be unveiled over the coming months, such as making blogs searchable based on tags, type of cuisine and much more. You will also be able to login into your account and manage your blog(s) information yourself, no more need to email us for changes :)
- Partnership with Foodbuzz: As you will notice, the new widget has a Foodbuzz Ad on it. This is no mistake! We are very pleased to announce that Foodbuzz and The Foodie Blogroll have partnered and Foodbuzz is now the official sponsor of The Foodie Blogroll! In order to better serve The Foodie Blogroll community, we purchased a new domain name and a dedicated server to house The Foodie Blogroll, to make sure things run smoother. It is important to us that membership to The Foodie Blogroll is always FREE. We also wanted to be in a position to give our members some great incentives to keep doing what you love best - playing with your food and blogging about it! Foodbuzz will now be working with us to make all this happen! Foodbuzz is a wonderful social networking community for foodies as well! Many of you already know this as members and Featured Publishers. So we both felt it was the perfect match!
Foodbuzz will also be sponsoring some of our monthly giveaways - and amongst this first month's giveaways we are offering some great food and wine magazine subscriptions! One of our valued current members who is displaying the newest widget, will receive one and the other subscription will go to a new member who signs up and is approved during September.
