• About Me Way back when (in 1985), husband Tom and I started up a little café, with a focus on vegetarian foods and recipes made from scratch. Now I'm a grandma too, and The New Deli is flourishing! I published a cookbook to share with other harried homemakers; "From the Land of Milk and Honey" has favorite recipes plus commentary about my faith. I still develop and share recipes, running that deli daily, doing some organic gardening on the side, determined to find efficient ways to prepare healthy foods and still have enough time left over for living! I learned a lot about food prep as a busgirl at age 16, making meals for my husband by age 17. I learned to stretch my food dollar; within a few years, I'd become a young mother and entrepreneur as well, learning to stretch my time. My cookbook managed to become a finalist in the Cooking, Food & Wine: Natural Foods category of the National Best Books 2007. My hope now is to continue sharing what I've learned! And, of course, to cook.
