  • About Me Way back in the 1960’s, when Colonel Yum was the tender age of 5yrs old, Blue Peter was THE programme to watch. While many watched for the making, Colonel Yum watched for the baking! After a disastrous attempt at making sugar mice, Colonel Yum developed a hearty appetite for learning to cook. From here on out, Colonel Yum’s journey began. Colonel Yum’s original cooking heroes included the ghastly Fanny Cradock, Robert Carrier and the legendary Delia Smith. With the help of cooks like Alastair Hendy, Jennifer Joyce, Rick Stein, Ken Hom and Ina Garten, Colonel Yum’s style has developed considerably over the years! Colonel Yum is by no means a food snob, but ready-made and processed food is simply not condoned. These foods never taste or look like the picture on the front, and despite the astronomical price tag, portions are just never big enough. Colonel Yum doesn’t think twice about making something from scratch! The Colonel Yum team is a mother/daughter duo. Colonel Yum Junior, showed no signs of interest in the art of cooking until very recently (despite one birthday being sent to the Cordon Bleu School of Cookery for a 10 week course). Luckily, the tide has turned, and she now is eager to learn! In fact, her Christmas present this year, will be a collation of all of Colonel Yum’s very best recipes, as it should be, passing down from mother to daughter. Colonel Yum Senior, owns a bespoke catering company and rarely steps out of the kitchen. Her collection of recipe books is swelling year on, year out. She ran out of shelving 2 years ago but that doesn’t seem to have stopped her from buying more!
